At the beginning of February, I began spreading some love for my favorite African Americans, many whom go un-taught about in the public school system. It’s been my way of celebrating and acknowledging those who have made an impact on society as we know it today. This is one way I wanted to share the rich history and knowledge of what other black figures accomplished and remind the world of our talents, resilience and competency in many different areas.
I want to make sure that in the black community, we know what those before us came from and went through so that more of us have an appreciation of where we are today, especially our young people. I also wanted to share some of my favorite quotes that still relate to today to continue to inspire and uplift you all, so I decided to archive them on my Instagram page (@Humble_Sunshine) and on my official Humble Sunshine Facebook page.
I’ve added facts that I’ve found interesting and what makes each individual an important historical figure so be sure to check them out, learn more about the them for yourself, and share with others. Everyone can gain some inspiration from these powerful people!
We’re a little over half way through the month so you still have time to celebrate in black history month with me here at Humble Sunshine! Take a glimpse at the figures I have featured so far & follow me on Facebook or Instagram to learn more about each individual and their contributions:
Follow me on Instagram: @Humble_Sunshine or on the official Humble Sunshine Facebook Page to keep up with my features & learn more about the black men and women who have paved the way as Black History Month continues! And don’t hesitate to share! This is one way that you can honor those Black figures who have left and are leaving an impact on the world as we know it today. You never know who you may be teaching!
