Saturday February 18, 2017 had to be one of the most exciting, amazing days of my life. Just when I thought the release of No More Chains, the book and the launch of this blog were huge I could feel the importance of this project and that I had officially reached a new level.
To see myself and the other 10 ladies on the screen sharing our stories and our deepest inner feelings was awe-inspiring! Even for someone who is in the film, I felt moved by their stories and reminded that we are doing the right work in our respective areas. It reminded me that I’ve made it to a point where there’s no looking back and I’ve come further than I could have imagined. Seeing the film reminded me that there is a reason I went through what I’ve gone through to make a difference and tell a story that needed to be told.
This movement proves to me that God’s plan is always the best plan. He keeps showing me time and time again that if what I dreamed of was to come to pass I wouldn’t be mentoring and ministering to young girls and women everyday. If I didn’t follow God’s plan I wouldn’t be able to use my gifts and experiences to help them live more peaceful lives and I wouldn’t be walking in my purpose and living through my passion.
Almost a week after seeing the No More Chains Documentary for the first time I’m still overjoyed and yet I still sense there is a part of me that the whole experience hasn’t hit yet. It’s a part of me that needs to truly relax and take a break from moving and let my mind wander so I can genuinely reflect on how far God has brought me.
God brought me to this very moment and he has surrounded me by this group of powerful and amazing women who have made it their mission to use their gifts and their stories to birth businesses that can make a difference in the world. That is exactly what myself, Q. Futrell, Cynthia Dixon, Erica Hill, Theresa Alexis, T.F. Sterling, Rhonda Robinson, Amanda E. Oliver, Patricia Clement, Tiffanye S. Wesley and Ari Squires have done!
