If you’re subscribed to my weekly Humble Uplifts Newsletter you remember that two weeks ago I shared my Music Motivation that featured “I’ll Just Say Yes” by Brian Courtney Wilson. I shared that the lyrics of this song always give me life and can pull me out of any troubling moment when I’m low on energy and/or questioning a decision I should make especially as it relates to my purpose. With this song, I’m reminded that I MUST follow God’s plan and that I should not lean to my own understanding!

With that said, writing about the song inspired me to go a little further in motivating YOU to SAY YES.
As I thought more about it I came to the revelation that everyone has been blessed by someone who said YES to their purpose and calling. Considering that the theme for November is Be Thankful: Gratitude Matters and that November is National Gratitude Month, I was reminded of all of the people who are in my life and some who have passed through, but are no longer a part of my current growth and development. These people have left me with motivation, opportunity (in positive or not so positive ways) and have helped mold me into the woman I am today. As I thought of these people, a feeling of gratitude filled within me. Then the thought that one of the best ways to show gratitude is to pass it on, overwhelmed me as well. With that said, I’m writing this to motivate you to keep that trend going! Say Yes to the thing, that goal that you feel is so hard to accomplish. Say Yes to that dream that you feel is so out of your reach. Last, but not least, Say Yes to passing on the gratitude for the month and everyday.
Trust me, after you commit to saying YES to what’s for you GOD will unleash the opportunities, people and things that you need and put them right in your lap. It may not always be easy, but at the end of the day the efforts will be so worth it and the great feelings you feel will over shadow the challenging and most difficult moments. Have an amazing November, my darling!
Oh! and before I go, I want to unofficially challenge you to take action and witness gratitude as you may or may not have experienced it before. I challenge you to keep a physical journal or an ongoing note on your computer, on your phone (however you feel you would most benefit from this exercise). Once you have decided on a medium, I want you to commit to writing one, two or more things that you are grateful for. You can list people, an opportunity, a job, an organization, place, some object, etc. To make this most effective, write your daily gratitudes once you wake up in the morning. You’ll see it make a difference in how your day goes, as you will start each day with a spirit of gratitude.
If you aren’t currently doing this and you have a hard time recovering from the tough patches that life throws at you, you’ll surely see a difference. Be sure to keep me posted on how it’s going! If you’re brave, I challenge you to post your list or one thing from your list to your social media accounts and watch it make a difference in not only your day, but the days of your friends and family. Be sure to post with the following tags so I can see them: #HumbleSunshine #GratitudeMatters
