When I thought about what I wanted to focus on for the month of March the mere idea of Spring approaching filled me with so much excitement!
Spring is the season of blossoming trees & flowers, bright colors, warmer weather (an intro to Summer), and of course allergies. However, despite the annoying sneezing, red, itchy, and watery eyes Spring has still managed to be one of my favorite seasons. I especially love how this season represents the idea of cleaning out the old and making room for the new. Not only does it apply to personal items I think now is a better time than any to view it as it relates to my life and mindset.
Today I challenge you to make steps to Spring into a mindset of peace & clarity and continue to make strides towards our goals that we set for the new year. We’re already about a quarter into 2016. What’s stopping you?
Here are 3 things that you should be doing to begin working towards a new goal and/or to keep up the momentum with a current goal:
1- Re-evaluate your plan/goal | Look at what you’ve accomplished so far. Are you on track? Adjust your plan and set weekly & daily goals to ensure that you can stay on track. Don’t feel bad if you MUST push something back. Life happens. However, don’t allow it to set you back too far. Remember that staying on track and maintaining consistency plays a huge part in reaching your goal. You want to do your best to avoid derailment.
2- Celebrate your successes so far | When you celebrate the small victories (compared to the big goal) you’ll find that it is easier to keep up your momentum that you’ll especially need when aiming for a big long-term goal.
3- Keep Going | Nothing works, unless you do. Whatever you must do, make sure you keep pushing. It’s that simple. So throw away all of your excuses and instead of looking for reasons why you can’t do something, put that energy into devising a plan to make it work. Don’t forget that you set your goal(s) for a reason. If you need something to keep you motivated write down your “why” and keep it in a place where you’ll see it everyday.
