Last week I shared this musical gem, that I consider a Humble Sunshine choice of a Music Motivation. I wanted to give a little music motivation to inspire, motivate and uplift you and hopefully help you get through the rest of the week. I usually only share these occasionally in my weekly Humble Uplift newsletter, but this song has stuck with me and I felt a strong desire to share it as a blog post. Read below:
This week’s Music Motivation is a song that has given me a lot of hope and peace lately and it’s called “Never Have to Be Alone” by CeCe Winans. If you’ve heard it you know what I’m talking about.
This song comes from her new album that was released in February of 2017 entitled: Let Them Fall In Love.
“Never Have To Be Alone” is such a delicately sung song and is simple yet powerful in the message that CeCe is telling her listeners through her storytelling.
The song opens up with the first verse:
Waking up
Another heavy heart
And burdens I can’t bear
Does anybody care
Seeing more of what I’m missing less
Of what I have to share
Miles away from what I need and yet
So close when I’m in prayer
The chorus follows:
That’s when I close my eyes
Take some time to realize
That he was always there
Truth is he never left
That is what the spirit says
And I believe it so
I never have to be alone
In addition to the first verse and chorus, I have to highlight one of my favorite lines in the bridge that truly brings the song to life for me:
Lonely heart, don’t desert the One
You know will love you best
Open up so he can breathe again
And put the storm to rest
Now, let me break this down, starting with the first verse. I have had many mornings (some in the recent days and weeks) where I have woken up with a heavy heart, not knowing how to process my feelings and who to talk to to accomplish that goal. Because of that simple fact, this song pulls at my heart strings every time I listen!
It is a reminder that we go searching and searching when in reality, the truth is that while we are out in the world searching for the right answer to our problems, trying to solve them on our own, God is HERE because he never left us!
